The Big Question

Many times in my life as a Christian I have had many choices to make. Perhaps the biggest choice is whether to live by faith and not by sight. Many times it is easier to live by what we see and not what we actually believe.

Peter was in the boat when Jesus called him to walk on the water. Moving in sight would say that it is a stupid thing to do as you will surely sink. This is a true test of faith whether we step out or stay in the security of the boat.

Faith says if Jesus says it then it is true. If you step out  you will surely not sink. It is only when you do walk out do you see faith in action. This is the faith that is needed to move mountains.

The question I need to ask myself is do I want a deeper walk with Jesus or stay nice and secure in the boat? Stepping out means keeping your eyes fixed on Jesus.

In the bible sea and water always represents the world, if you take your eyes off Jesus you will sink into the world. It is full of pain and insecurity. Do you follow Jesus and deny the world? The next step is yours.

About cleavinghearts

I go to church in Troon Scotland. I want to see men from every nation rise up in Christ and be who they are called to be. I am interested in men getting together to praise and just do men's things. I also want to see women rise above their pain and turmoil so they are free to follow Jesus without the hindrances of their past.
