Running the race

Hebrews 12:1

God’s Discipline Proves His Love
12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

There is a great crowd of witnesses that surround us, that means that we are never alone. The enemy loves to tell us that nobody likes us that’s why you always feel lonely. The reality is that Jesus is always with us as he lives in our heart. We would be amazed if we were to count all the people that we actually know; even more so if we counted the ones who actually love us!!

We need to let go of every weight that holds us down, that is the shame, people pleasing and the feelings of not being good enough. These are the very things that lead us into sin; we sin to get some form of relief from the heavy load that we are carrying.

We need to carry on in the race that Father God has set before us. That is to run as if we are going to complete the race. There is only one way to do this;

It’s not by might nor by power but by my Spirit says the LORD.

Will you continue in the race today?

I know that I will.

About cleavinghearts

I go to church in Troon Scotland. I want to see men from every nation rise up in Christ and be who they are called to be. I am interested in men getting together to praise and just do men's things. I also want to see women rise above their pain and turmoil so they are free to follow Jesus without the hindrances of their past.
